I was referred to Dr. Lyman by my dentist. My procedure today was a surprise, but glad they were able to do it shortly after consultation so as to avoid another visit and delay in getting the issue addressed. I have had multiple severe mouth and face injuries so am well aware of bad technique and careless work. Dr. Lyman is professional, knowledgeable, and quite skilled. I agree, the fees are quite high, but the service is excellent, the facility state of the art, and the staff professional and good at their jobs.

I had a wonderful experience at Lakewood ranch as a dental student! The staff was welcoming and made me feel very comfortable from the moment I walked in. The dentist was professional, gentle, and took the time to explain everything clearly, which I really enjoyed watching them. The clinic itself was clean, modern, and had a very calming atmosphere. Overall, I truly enjoyed my visit and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

My 18 year old son needed to get his wisdom teeth out. They were not bothering him at all, but our dentist said that the bottom ones were growing in on an angle and recommended they come out as soon as possible. I called Lakewood Ranch Oral and Facial Surgery and they refused to give a range of cost for the removal of 4 wisdom teeth by phone. I asked what the consult fee was, but was never told at any point that there would be an additional charges for x-rays of $655! Therefore, they charged $840 to walk in the door, where other doctors were free or simply charged an office visit cost for a consult (using my son's recent X-rays from the dentist as reference). Once we drove the 30 minutes there, I felt we had to follow through because it was one of the few offices that took my insurance. It is possible that Dr. Lyman is completely competent but we (and many other patients, I imagine) will never know. His prices are exorbitant and his office staff inept - lacking in maturity and understanding in how to deal with patients. As a single mom walking in the door to be told we had to pay $840 for my son to be seen, I was shocked. I asked why I was not told this on the phone and they actually had no answer. The woman who dealt with insurance kept telling me I would "love" the x-rays and would understand why they were the price they were when I saw how "cool" they were! She was condescending and unprofessional. I truly wish I had walked out then and saved myself $1,100. In addition, they then proceeded to charge me $283 for a homeopathic healing set (you can buy for $89 on the web) in order to book the surgery, understand what would be covered and get a true picture of what I would have to pay. I was then told that the entire process of removing 4 of my son's wisdom teeth would be over $7k! (this is in addition to the $1,100)! Absolutely ridiculous. They told me my insurance would only pay $1k of that remaining $7k. When I left the office, I felt completely bamboozled. None of this sat right with me, so I took my son to see two other oral surgeons, who told me that this "special" type of x-ray was not even necessary. Where my son ultimately had his wisdom teeth removed, my insurance paid most of the $3k and we only had to pay $400 out of pocket. I had two consults for a fraction of the price of what this office wanted to charge us. What a useless waste of $1,100 on this office, prior to finding two highly experienced and pleasant oral surgeons, with knowledgeable and professional office staff. Dr. Lyman needs a new pricing model, up front disclosure on what it costs to walk in the door to see him, and better staff. What an awful experience and I feel completely taken advantage of, especially as a single mother.
