“Dr Lyman is nothing short of incredible! He is a very smart man who knows his field of expertise inside out. During my appointment, Dr Lyman’s passion for his work and how much he cares about his patients was evident by way of his patience, empathy, understanding and by the time he took to listen to my concerns and answer any questions. He spent over an hour with me and not once did I feel rushed or like I was ‘just another patient’. Thank you so much! I cannot recommend him enough.”

Patient Review
I highly do not recommend this practice. I now understand why so many of the negative reviews for this office are so consistent. Unfortunately, my experience at Lakewood Ranch Oral and Facial Surgery reflected many of the same concerns regarding professionalism and transparency. About six months ago, my daughter was seen here regarding wisdom teeth removal surgery. At that time, we scheduled her consultation appointment six months in advance to accommodate our family’s busy schedule. As the appointment date approached, the office pushed it back another week, which was already frustrating given how far in advance everything had been arranged. When we finally arrived for the rescheduled appointment, the experience only became more disappointing. My daughter and I waited in the office for over an hour, despite the actual appointment lasting no more than 15 minutes. During that time, the front desk staff showed very little professionalism or empathy. The most concerning part of this experience, however, was the pricing. At our original appointment six months ago, we were quoted approximately $1,260 for my daughter’s wisdom teeth surgery, which seemed reasonable. At this most recent consultation, we were shocked to learn that the cost had nearly doubled. On our way out, after already waiting over an hour, one of the staff members stated that the increase was due to insurance changes and not the practice itself. Wanting to better understand the difference, my daughter and I went home and compared both printed estimates side by side. We quickly discovered that our insurance coverage had remained exactly the same at 70%. The increased cost came from the office raising its own prices on several items, not from insurance changes as we had been told. What made this especially upsetting was the dismissive nature of the comment, as though questioning a price increase of over $1,000 was unreasonable. Transparency and honesty are incredibly important in any medical setting, and I left feeling misled and frustrated. I truly wish I had paid closer attention to the negative reviews beforehand because many describe experiences very similar to ours. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this practice. The lack of professionalism, poor communication, excessive wait times, and dramatic unexplained price increases left a very negative impression on my family.

Patient Review
I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Lakewood Ranch Oral & Facial Surgery was frustrating enough that I feel obligated to share it. We scheduled this wisdom teeth surgery appointment six months in advance, only for the office to move it back another week. After finally arriving for the appointment, we then waited over an hour while dealing with front desk staff who were rude, dismissive, and lacking basic professionalism. What truly pushed this experience over the edge was the pricing. Months ago, we were given one estimate for the surgery. When we returned, the out-of-pocket cost had suddenly increased by nearly $1,000. A staff member attempted to blame the increase on insurance coverage, but we had printed copies of both estimates and confirmed that our insurance was still covering the exact same 70% as before. The increase came from the office’s own pricing and added charges, not from insurance. To make matters worse, I called another oral surgery practice afterward and found out that WITHOUT insurance, their total cost for the exact same surgery was only about $200 more than what this office was trying to charge us WITH insurance. That was honestly shocking. At that point, it became very difficult not to feel like this office is far more focused on maximizing charges than actually caring about patients. Having wisdom teeth surgery is already stressful enough without feeling misled financially and treated poorly by staff. I understand that medical procedures are expensive, but patients deserve honesty, transparency, and respectful communication. Unfortunately, this experience felt disorganized, misleading, and extremely unprofessional from start to finish. After reading through other negative reviews, it became clear that many people have had very similar experiences here. I rarely write negative reviews, but families deserve to know what they may be walking into before committing to treatment at this office.

Patient Review
Referred here by my dentist months ago and called months ago trying to get in because I have potential jaw degradation. When I called months ago, even after checking their website to make sure they do treat TMJ related issues, I was told they don’t with no sort of timeline on when they would or a referral to anywhere else. I gave them some time, called again, and same result. This time I thought to ask for a referral and the girl on the phone started to get ugly with me. Don’t advertise that you’re scheduling new appointments to treat something if you aren’t; that’s literally the DEFINITION OF MISLEADING. I want to add that the place they then referred me to (which they only gave me a phone number for because the girl on the phone wanted to argue with me instead) is FAR. So they advertise for something they don’t do and then tell you to go drive 50+ miles to their referral. Hope this review is helpful for you ❤️
